"Harder, Better, Faster, Stronger, Darker"

When I first got this track (link at bottom of paragraph), during the good old days of sifting through Palmsout's remix sundays, at the beginning of '08 it blew me away and I really took notice of Jokers of the Scene due to an undeniably original sound.

Then there was nothing for almost 9 months, I never stumbled onto anymore Joker's tracks and I blew it off as an experiment gone right that never realized it's destiny, and in an age of disposable music I never thought to seek them out either always thinking they would eventually pop up on other blogs with new material.

Then October came round and another Jokers of the Scene popped up on Call Me Pelski and I was eager to test the new product. It was killer, but ripped at the dreaded 128kbps, but even through those restrictions the track beams black light.

Then this year I've have been blessed to see these Canadian comedians finally get solid recognition, and stand their own ground.

Canada sure does produce some dark, tough as nails tracks.

So if there are any Canadian readers out there I'm sure you got some devil mojo inside your tap water, and dear god I'd appreciate it if you'd bottle some that Aqua Satan and ship it out too me 5 litres at a time, don't be shy get in touch with me in the comments, I'll try make it worth your while I got some tip of Africa sand to trade.

Their new remix, fresh off Discodust, has taken me too a dark place thats impossible to leave, at least not till it's time for the Simpsons. Do they still make that show? I don't know I've been living in a cave in Oudtshoorn for the last 5 years, well I say living, I'm more lost in it, well my school forgot me here whilst on an excursion. Mrs. Patterson could you come pick me up now I'm colder, wetter, hungrier, dirtier than I was when I arrived.

Please Don't Kill Me!

Well I'm officially freaked the fuck out, while I was noshing some cereal this morning in my underoo's, a sleeve with the above artwork and a cd with the below track slid under the front door to my apartment.

They murmured through the door something in what sounded like a garbled text to speach
"zxkzxxyxz...comprised of....zzzzzzzz....they have merged to create a nu nufangled circuit bent...ssssshissssss...xzvxz...Machette Jacobite... for now, this is all you need to know"

And after a few fear drenched minutes elapsed, I worked up the nerve to venture closer to the door and collect the parcel.

I have no idea who decided to fill me with dread, besides it's name 'Machette Jacobite', but I know one thing this person/thing that made the delivery is most definitely a time traveling bounty hunter of some kind and that they have made the grave error of letting me know they want me dead.

I will prepare so fucking hard for our encounter. I will sharpen my blades, learn jeet kune do, practice my Shoryuken's and listen to Queen's who wants to live forever on repeat.

So the war has begun and to quote a good friend and idol of mine Tyrone Biggums:
"Remember what the Bible says: He who is without sin, cast the first rock. And I shall smoketh it."

There can be only one.

UPDATE: In retrospect maybe I'm getting a little carried away, I'm sorry, maybe it was a sugar rush from the boss cereal (Milo chocolate flake things, amazing!) that gave me the skittles, and maybe thats the last time I smoke rocks before breakfast?

Get yo Head Straight!

Since i have the Squid Flu this week, my sense of imagination and humor has been adversely affected... meaning all i can muster are the facts.

Alex Metric. The dude makes amazing music.

Way back when i first heard a granule of his work i passed it off as more gay 80s sounding synth pop... then i heard his remix of Evil Nine and that all changed... as i heard more and more of his work i then realised how great his music really is. Now i dont think I could make a playlist without at least one of his tracks innit... meaning he's now one of my favourite Musicians out at the moment.

Thats why Im really excited about his "Head Straight" EP out on the 18th of May. The title track, Head Straight, i must admit is that gay 80's synth pop stuff... that i aint feelin, but the other 2 tracks "now what?" and "Shirley, you cant be serious" are amazing.

I also learned that Alex Metric is really good DJ too... Heres the proof. His March 09 Mix for ya'll show cases the two tracks mentioned earlier... fantastic stuff.

Heres a radio edit of his track Head Straight

And a brilliant remix he did of Phoenix... now before you write his remix off with all the other rubbish ones... have a listen. It outshines all of them!

Belushi, the blog famous double agent mixes it up.

Our very own double agent, Belushi, lays down another dope mixtape for all ya'll to enjoy... or just straight up dance too.

Ol Belushi's found a great balance between quality and quantity when it comes to mixtapes, thats for sure. If he posted here as frequently as he drops tight mixes like this, we'd be in business.

Seize it here while its hot!

Grave Danger, Know the Truth!

If you’ve been wondering who’s been keying your car, letting the air out your tyres and keeping you up at night with bile fuelled bass thuds while you slumber.

I have your answer and you are not going to like it.

It’s these 2 evil, undead gnomes, that have have somehow climbed into the intestinal chambers of 2 friends (Magnum Hifi & Kid Colt) of mine and pilot their bodies to do unstoppable acts of evil.

Right now they are breaking into local club promoters houses while they sleep and hypnotising them into hiring only “Grave Danger” for any gig available. Any gig, I mean right now Grave Danger are playing everywhere and anywhere spreading their audio filth to unknowing revellers (wise up dickheads you're dancing to the devils music).

"The Faces of Pure Evil"

I remember the first time i heard them play, and also the nightmares I had that evening that can only be described as satan’s circus. But even worse is that nobody can get a gig in town, fucking nobody. They’ve turned a town full of dj’s into a town full of bedroom disc jockeys.

Now killing the 2 hosts (Magnum Hifi and Kid Colt) is not the answer, they will just transfer over to another couple of other Dj’s with worse music collections and that will make us all puke up our teeth.

We have to band together and stalk these evil gnome fuckwits, and kick them as hard as you possibly can square in the balls, because that’s the only way to kill a gnome.

"The Logo of Pure Evil"

I’ve included some rare footage of what these creatures look like when in the wild (link) as well as two mixes, in order for us to hear what audio terror these half-pint beasts are able to conjure up.

I’m trusting you to never, under any circumstances play these mixes backwards, please for the love of god this is serious and playing these mixes backwards would unleash an unimaginable evil onto our planet. Like fucking Derrick the Bandit x Infinity.
